About Us

BURNING is an art studio and production company created by Diana Bustamante Escobar  with the aim of developing, accompanying and producing films and artworks that take formal and conceptual risks, leading to high-quality aesthetic and narrative bets.

 

From the beginning of her career, Bustamante has been identified for supporting authors, with or without experience, whose vision and voice explore new perspectives and resonate on the international scene. She has produced projects such as Ciro Guerra's “los Viajes del Viento” -Cannes 2009-; “Siete Cabezas" by Jaime Osorio, premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival; “La Tierra y la Sombra" by Cesar Acevedo, -Camera D’or, Cannes 2015-; " “Los Hongos" by Oscar Ruiz Navia -Locarno 2017-; “La Playa DC ”  by Juan Andrés Arango - Cannes 2012-; “El Vuelco del Cangrejo” by Oscar Ruiz Navia -Toronto 2009-; “Memoria” by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, winner of the Jury Prize at Cannes 2021, and "Nuestra Película", of ther authorship, premiered at DOCNYC. All of her movies have developed diverse co-production models and have enabled in innovative ways the creation of distinctive pieces that have had a high impact internationally, having been distributed and released most of them in more than 50 countries around the world.
