NUESTRA PELÍCULA

Video installation produced as part of the promotion of the documentary Nuestra Película by Diana Bustamante.
Exhibited at the Centro de Memoria, Paz y Reconciliación of Bogotá, 2023.

The materiality of Nuestra Película re-signifies the device-object link (television) with the intimate space in which this device-object constitutes in itself, from the everydayness of the household, a device of thinking, multiplication and normalization, of a succession of events that during the 80’s and still today, shape perhaps the only shared narrative that we have in our country: the violence. 

The elements that repeat themselves are analogies of the iteration and of the narrative forms that they acquire, turning them into patterns from another surface on the same space, of a misty and phantasmagoric wallpaper that only through time and from that same accumulation is that we can discern. 

The intimate space amalgamates itself with the communal one, creating a loop that forces us to see from other perspectives the construction of the collective memory and, why not, to circulate and deal with, from that intimacy, the collective trauma.
